An Exotic Shore Hidden Behind the Cliffs
Nestled in a hidden curve where Ölüdeniz’s steep, rugged mountain range meets the sea, Camel Beach is the largest sandy bay in Fethiye accessible only by sea. It takes its name from the iconic shape of the massive cliffs rising behind the cove, which, when viewed from a distance, resemble the humps of a camel herd. Unlike the narrow, rocky coves such as Akvaryum or Soğuk Su, this is a secret coastal oasis where you can bury your feet in soft yellow sand and sunbathe while gazing out at the endless Mediterranean horizon.

Access: Road access to this bay is impossible. It is backed by steep, impassable rocky mountains, meaning you can only reach it by sea.

Sea Routes: It is one of the most delightful stopovers for the daily boat tours (especially those on the Butterfly Valley and popular bay routes) departing from Ölüdeniz Belcekız Beach. It is typically an afternoon stop where guests are given a long break to enjoy sunbathing and walking on the beach.

Camel Beach possesses an untouched nature, completely free from the noise of civilization, power lines, and concrete structures.

Facilities: There is no permanent electricity infrastructure or luxury restaurant on the beach. However, during the summer season, a small, rustic wooden kiosk run by locals—operating on a generator—may serve snacks like gözleme (Turkish flatbread) when tour boats are frequent. As sunbed and umbrella availability is not guaranteed, the most reliable comfort remains the tour boat you arrive on.

The Character of the Sea & Shore: Unlike the stony structure of other boat-access bays, Camel Beach is covered in fine yellow sand. The seabed is also sandy, and the water is extremely clear, clean, and refreshing, reflecting the true nature of Fethiye’s open sea. It is worth noting that the water can deepen suddenly, so families with children and beginner swimmers should remain cautious.

"Escapes Go" Activity Tip: Thanks to its wide beach, this is a fantastic spot to get off the boat and take long walks or sunbathe on the soft sand. Additionally, the rocky areas stretching along the sides of the beach are quite rich in marine life; don’t forget to bring your snorkel!

While the massive, sheer cliffs rising behind the beach are visually breathtaking, they are completely wild and natural. For this reason, especially on windy days or during seasonal transitions, it is a much safer choice to lay your towel and umbrella on the wider parts of the beach closer to the sea, rather than right at the base of the rocks, to avoid any risk of falling stones.
