JEEP SAFARI

Mud, Water Wars, and Hidden Paradises

If lying by the pool at a luxury hotel or joining a standard beach tour isn't quite your style—if your spirit craves kicking up dust, getting soaked, and laughing until your ribs ache—then the answer is clear: Fethiye Jeep Safari!

This tour is one of Fethiye’s oldest, most established, and by far the most entertaining outdoor activities.

Starting at the first light of day as you are picked up from your hotel in open-top modified jeeps, this adventure packs five different epic routes into a single day.

Here is the ultimate guide to the grand Jeep Safari, where the roar of engines meets the cheers of water battles!

Five Worlds in One Day: The Jeep Safari Route

Fethiye Jeep Safari allows you to explore the region's greatest historical and natural treasures in just one day. Here are the legendary stops:

  • A Journey to Antiquity: Tlos Ancient City: The first stop is Tlos, one of the most important settlements of the Lycian civilization, dating back 4,000 years. As we climb the slopes in our jeeps, you’ll catch panoramic views of the rock tombs, the ancient theater, and the fortress, witnessing the majesty of history.

  • A Desert Oasis: Yakapark Nature Park: When the jeeps leave the dust and dirt behind, your next haven is the cool shade of Yakapark. Ice-cold spring waters gushing from beneath centuries-old plane trees, man-made waterfalls, and trout farms await you. (Fun Challenge: Facilities often offer free drinks or prizes to brave travelers who can stay in the freezing water channels for 5 minutes!)

  • In the Shadow of Giants: Saklıkent Canyon: One of Europe’s longest and deepest canyons is the highlight of the safari. You will embark on an unforgettable walk deep into the canyon, wading through the rushing waters flowing between massive cliffs hundreds of meters high.

  • Wild Currents: Ringo Rafting (Tubing): Just outside Saklıkent Canyon, you’ll enjoy the most fun sub-activity of the tour: Ringo Rafting on the cool waters of the Karaçay River. You’ll spin and glide down the river in giant single-person inflatable rings.

  • A Childhood Flashback: Healing Mud Baths: You’ll wash away the day's dust and exhaustion in the special mud pools built by the riverbank. Covering yourself from head to toe in natural, mineral-rich mud, taking funny photos, and rinsing off in the river is the perfect closing ritual for your safari.

The Must-Have: The Grand Water Wars!

What sets the Fethiye Jeep Safari apart from any other tour is the non-stop water battles between the jeeps.

Before the tour begins, you will rent heavy-duty water guns (pump-action rifles) from your guides—these will be your primary weapons for the day!

Throughout the journey, as you encounter other jeeps or pass through local villages, you will soak each other entirely, experiencing some of the most carefree and joyous hours of your life

"A group of friends in open-top jeeps, roaring with laughter, water guns in hand. – Safari warriors defying the dust, the sun, and the water!"

Safety & Pro-Tips

To ensure your day remains a masterpiece of fun, keep these tips in mind:

  • Rent a Water Gun: Don’t say, "I’ll just watch." There is no escaping the water war! Being in the middle of the action is five times more fun than just watching.

  • Protect Your Eyes: You will get sprayed directly in the face. Wearing sunglasses or clear protective goggles will keep the water out of your eyes and protect you from the mountain dust.

  • Waterproof Your Tech: Getting your phone soaked or dropping it from the jeep is a high risk. A high-quality waterproof pouch that hangs around your neck is a lifesaver.

  • Dress for Adventure: You will be covered in dust and mud, so wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty—dark-colored shorts and quick-dry t-shirts are best. Definitely bring a towel and a complete set of dry clothes for the end of the tour.
